Frequently asked questions

What counts as a request?

Every successful HTTP call to a /v1 endpoint counts as one request. Health and status checks are not metered.

How are streaming and bulk downloads metered?

Live stream connections and snapshot exports are billed by egress volume, not per request. Growth includes 1 TB / month; Scale is custom for PB-scale workloads. A held-open stream counts only the bytes it delivers.

What happens if I exceed my quota?

Protected endpoints return rate-limit headers (X-RateLimit-Limit, X-RateLimit-Remaining, X-RateLimit-Reset). Once your monthly quota is reached, additional requests are throttled until the next reset, or you can upgrade at any time.

Do I need a credit card for the Free plan?

No. The Free plan requires no payment details. You only add billing when you upgrade to Growth or Scale.

Can I switch regions?

Yes. Paid plans serve from all 30 regional endpoints. Target a region by its subdomain (for example de.live12db.com) or let anycast route to the nearest node.

How do I get an API key?
